Native Fingerling Release

The Jugiong Fishing Club would like to thank the Community Bank Adelong Gundagai Tumut for a grant we received to purchase additional native fingerlings to release into local waterways.

This grant with the Department of Primary Industries 2 for 1 native fish stocking permit, and money raised from the Carpathon, members of the Fishing Club released $7000 of fingerings into the Murrumbidgee River at Jugiong last Friday afternoon.

Since 2017 the Jugiong Fishing Club has released a total of $21,000 of Murray Cod and Golden Perch (Yellowbelly) into the river.

Although Carp was the target species for the event we were pleased to hear many anglers caught Murray Cod and Golden Perch over the Carpathon weekend and also on many other fishing occasions.
